Bertolini and Bartels Wins 2010 FIA GT1World ChampionshipIt is certainly a great year for the Vitaphone Maserati pair as they win the 2010 FIA GTI World Championship especially after they finished 12th place in the qualifying rounds at San Luis. At the event, Andrea Bertolini and Michael Bartels were crowned as the champions and they were really thrilled to receive the crown. Apart from that their closest rival who had the chances of being in the top three spot ended up being at the 10th spot which was a shocker to a lot of people. Darren Turner and Tomas Enge in the Young Driver AMR Aston Martin No 7 were considered to be in the top three but somehow they could never manage to get there.

Double Victory for Hexis Aston MartinIt was certainly a double celebration for the Aston Martin as Hexis Aston Martin No. 9 scored a superb victory at the FIA GT1 World Championship Race at San Luis. This means that Aston Martin has won two trophies for the manufacturers including SRO Trophy as well. Fred Makowiecki who drives the Aston Martin No. 9 said that it has been one of the best weekends for Hexis and Aston Martin. However, it was the car that did the trick because it was really strong on the circuit. On the other hand, he also stated that the circuit was very new to all the drivers and that was one of the reasons why everybody was trying to keep a good pace but he was luckier than others as he was able to get the lead and kept it till the very end.

Reiter Lamborghini Goes for DoubleIn one of the most interesting matches happened at Navarra, Reiter Lamborghini went for the double after being victorious at the Qualifying Race and the Championship Race. This is one of the few events where Reiter Engineering have won both the races and created a record for their own. As per the records, this is the third time in the history of FIA GT1 World Championship that a brand has won twice in the same day. Earlier, Vitaphone Maserati achieved the same kind of success at Brno and even Young Driver Aston Martin did the same at Nurburgring.

In the Championship Race, Ricardo Zonta and Frank Kechele of the Reiter Engineering took the first place and collected 33 points for all their hard work and efforts. The victory they achieved was one of the most pulsating moments as they took over the race by 11 seconds. Right behind them was Hexis Aston Martin No. 9 and the third place was registered by the Sumo Power Nissan GTR No. 22 which was handled by Jamie Campbell-Walter and Warren Hughes. The fourth place was taken by Young Driver Aston Martin No. 7 driven by Darren Turner and Tomas Enge who moved up in the race from the 19th position and they did a splendid job to keep themselves among the top racers on the track.

All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsport Maserati No. 38 was right behind Young Driver Aston Martin No. 7 and it was driven by Nicky Pasterolli and Dominik Schwager who gradually had to satisfy with the fifth place although they started very lazily at the 18th position. Bas Leinders and Maxime Martin in the Marc VDS Ford GT were on the sixth spot by the end of the race. Thomas Mutsch’s car from Matech got severely damaged with Phoenix Corvette just 40 minutes into the race and Mutsch had to eventually retire from the race.

Vitaphone Racing Takes Victory in PortimaoIf you are interested in circuit racing you should certainly know about Vitaphone Racing taking over Matech Competition in the race that happened in Portimao. The temperature around was already 27 degree Celsius but by the time the race would begin the temperature soared up to 38 degree Celsius and the race began at around 15:30 local time in Portugal. The start was quite decent and Peter Dumbreck from Sumo Power GT decided to race ahead without any damage or harm to his car. Nicky Pasterolli who was in his Lamborghini was right behind in the second spot but soon collided with Enrique Bernoldi of Vitaphone Racing Maserati MC12. In the event, Jamie Campbell-Walter of Sumo Power GT was also hit in the collision and had no option but to retire from the race.

FIA GT1 World Championship’s 6th round race on 29th august at Nurburgring was yet another interesting and thrilling battle between the enthusiast drivers with their amazing cars. Before the race had even initiated, the grid had already been changed. Stefan Mücke, Karl Wendlinger, Dominik Schwager and Bert Longin broke the limits at the 4’Th turn in the qualifying session and thus were given a three place penalty of grid.
