FIA GT1 World Championship’s 6th round race on 29th august at Nurburgring was yet another interesting and thrilling battle between the enthusiast drivers with their amazing cars. Before the race had even initiated, the grid had already been changed. Stefan Mücke, Karl Wendlinger, Dominik Schwager and Bert Longin broke the limits at the 4’Th turn in the qualifying session and thus were given a three place penalty of grid.

As the drivers started the race, it appeared as if several colored bullets have been fired in the air. Unfortunately, Kuppens and Heger as came out from the corner, both the GTs revolved into the grass. However, they did rejoin the race later, but the other drivers had progressed far ahead by then. Very soon Hennerici and Turner were also pulled away from the field and rest of the teams behind them started battling for the tempting fifth position. Several close encounters were seen between Clivio Piccione of Hexis Aston Martin and Ricardo Zonta of Lamborghini.

A few laps later things turned again as Ricardo Zonta fastened his brakes and slid onto the Ford GT. Both the cars met a severe spin, and thus the other cars got an opportunity to move ahead. As 14 laps were covered, Darren Turner, who was leading the race came to his stop and handed over his Martin to Tomas Enge. Enge had no troubles as he was far ahead the race with all of the cars far behind. When 20 minutes were remaining for the race, Enge was already 13.82 seconds clear from the field. In the last 15 minutes Matech driver met trouble. After that Richard Westbrook of Matech Ford overtook Henri Moser. However, westbrook was penalized as he broke the rules. As it was anticipated Aston Martin Young Driver AMR’s Enge has no issues in completing the laps and occupied the first position as he crossed the finishing line ahead of the others.
