It was certainly a double celebration for the Aston Martin as Hexis Aston Martin No. 9 scored a superb victory at the FIA GT1 World Championship Race at San Luis. This means that Aston Martin has won two trophies for the manufacturers including SRO Trophy as well. Fred Makowiecki who drives the Aston Martin No. 9 said that it has been one of the best weekends for Hexis and Aston Martin. However, it was the car that did the trick because it was really strong on the circuit. On the other hand, he also stated that the circuit was very new to all the drivers and that was one of the reasons why everybody was trying to keep a good pace but he was luckier than others as he was able to get the lead and kept it till the very end.
Another Hexis Aston Martin No. 10, Yann Clairay appreciated the work of Fred and said that Fred did a wonderful job and it has been a beautiful event where all the drivers did their best. He also stated that personally he enjoyed the format and that he is looking forward for the next year as well. In the Championship race Matech Ford GT No. 5 of Richard Westbrook and Thomas Mutsch took the second place along with Hexis Aston Martin No. 10.
Right behind the second spot, Vitaphone Maserati secured their place effectively. However, in the list of teams title Reiter Engineering took the third spot right behind Vitaphone Maserati and Hexis AMR. Matech Competition driver Thomas Mutsch said that the event was really good and exciting and that he was excited that he finish so high on the rankings. He further expressed his feelings that he would certainly look forward to the same competition next year as he can be with the nice team and great professional drivers in the circuit.
